Alix Le Saux

Alix Le Saux has been praised for her “warm rounded voice” (Forum Opera) and her “strong lower register, effortless high notes” (Musicologie).

She first sang as a mezzo soprano and her most celebrated portrayals then included Massenet’s Cendrillon (Glyndebourne Touring Opera), Dido / Dido and Aeneas (Lyon Opera, Ruhrtriennale Festival, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen), Rosina / Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the title role of La Belle Hélène (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Paris).

Alix has sung at the Opéra National de Paris (Tannhäuser, L’Amour des trois Oranges, Werther, Manon…), Theater an der Wien (Rossini’s Otello), Glyndebourne Festival (Rusalka), Opéra National de Lyon (title roles of L’Enfant et les sortilèges and Dido & Aeneas), Paris Opéra Comique (Viardot’s Cendrillon and Offenbach’s Fantasio, JC Bach’s Amadis de Gaule), Opéra de Bordeaux (Boesmans’ Pinocchio, Lavandier’s La Légende du Roi Dragon), Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse (Orfeo).

Recently she made her debut at Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona) as Zerlina / Don Giovanni with Marc Minkowski (also at Bordeaux Opera and at the Opéra de Versailles),  La Périchole at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Berlioz ‘s Les Nuits d’été with Renaud Capuçon at Berlioz Festival and with Lionel Bringuier and the Karajan Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker at Aix-en-Provence Festival, Orphée aux Enfers at the Elbphilharmonie, Ottavia / Incoronazione di Poppea in Paris and Geneva, Ericlea / Il Ritorno d’Ulisse at Teatro Real in Madrid, Lausanne Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, La Coruña…

For the 2024-2025 season, she will sing and record the title role fo Caccini’s La Liberazione di Riuggiero dell’isola di Alcina in Lausanne, Ambronay, Capitole de Toulouse) ,  La Cenerentola in Nancy, Luxemburg and Reims. Later she will be making her debut as  Donna Elvira / Don Giovanni at Capitole de Toulouse.

She has just recorded for Naïve label La Speranza / Orfeo and Ericlea / Il Ritorno d’Ulisse.
