Ferran Albrich
Spanish baritone Ferran Albrich’s career combines operatic versatility, a distinguished concert profile and a deep commitment to both early music and contemporary repertoire. Praised for the warmth of his voice, his stylistic intelligence and his refined musicianship, he has become an increasingly sought-after artist on the Spanish and European musical scenes.
Originally trained as a cellist, he graduated with honours from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany before devoting himself entirely to singing. He completed his vocal studies summa cum laude at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona under the guidance of Dolors Aldea in 2013.
Since 2019, he has collaborated regularly with many of Spain’s leading orchestras, including the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, the Real Filharmonía de Galicia, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, and the Orquesta de València. His growing affinity for historically informed performance has also led to collaborations with renowned period ensembles including La Ritirata, La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, Cremona Antiqua, Proxima D and Vespres d’Arnadí.
His concert activity encompasses a broad repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the twentieth century. Recent highlights include Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Palau de la Música Catalana, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at L’Auditori Barcelona, and Haydn’s Nelson Mass with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia.
Alongside his concert career, he has developed a steadily expanding operatic repertoire. During the 2025–2026 season, he made his role debut as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Òpera Catalunya, returning to the company the following season for two major role debuts: the title role in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Valentin in Gounod’s Faust. He also appeared in the modern premiere of Cavalli’s Le nozze di Teti e di Peleo at the Teatro Monteverdi di Cremona, further demonstrating his affinity for rarely performed repertoire.
His engagements have brought him to prestigious venues including the Theater an der Wien and Halle E in Vienna, Teatro Real and Teatro Monumental in Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori Barcelona, Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona and the Teatro Grande in Brescia.
A passionate advocate of Spanish music, he has premiered numerous works by contemporary Catalan composers including Salvador Brotons, Albert Guinovart and Joan Magrané Domènech, collaborating with distinguished pianists such as Alexander Schmalcz, Victoria Guerrero and Rubén Fernández Aguirre.
In 2025, he recorded Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine, masses by Cristóbal de Morales, and Carles Baguer’s oratorio El Hijo Pródigo with Vespres d’Arnadí. The same year also saw the release of his first solo album, Record d’un poeta, devoted to the Spanish and Catalan song repertoire.
