Veronica Anusca

Born in Piatra-Neamț, Rumanian lyric soprano Veronica Anușca studied guitar, cello and voice at the National University of Music in Bucharest where she graduated in 2009.

Veronica is a laureate of many international competitions such as Hariclea Darcleé Competition (2nd Prize), George Ştefănescu Goangă Singing Competition (1st Prize), Sabin Dragoi Competition (Grand Prize)…

She made her debut on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera in the title role of Rita/ Donizetti, and soon became their leading soprano where she’s been highly praised for the beauty, the flexibility and the femininity of her voice. Among the roles she has sung there : Giulietta / I Capuleti ed i Montecchi, Adele / Die Fledermaus, Oscar / Un Ballo in maschera, Gilda / Rigoletto, Musetta / La Bohème, Lucia di Lammermoor, Violetta / La Traviata, Adina / L’Elisir d’amore, Susanna / Le Nozze di Figaro, Norma, Donna Anna / Don Giovanni.

Veronica Anuşca has performed at all music institutions of Rumania as well as Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Doelen in Rotterdam, Winslow Operahall in England, Gdansk, Rome, Vilnius…under the baton of conductors such as Michele Gamba, Christian Badea, Cristian Mandeal, Leo Hussain, Raymond Janssen, Cem Mansur, Davide Crescenzi and with director Andrei Șerban (in his famed production of Lucia di Lammermoor).

She recently made her Italian debut in Lecce to great critical and public acclaim with her much-admired Traviata.

Her concert repertoire is equally wide : Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, by Händel’s Risurezione, Messiah, Purcell’s Te Deum, Bach’s Johannes Passion and Matthäus Passion, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Die Schöpfung and Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Exultate Jubilate, Great Mass in c minor, Coronation Mass, Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Rachmaninov’s The Bells, Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer night dream, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solemnelle and Stabat Mater, Orff’s Carmina Burana...
