Alessandro Palumbo

From 2014, the year of his debut, Alessandro has performed at important venues such as Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Sociale in Como, Ópera de Tenerife, Stadthalle in Wuppertal, Royal Opera House in Muscat, Cultural Center of the Philippines…

His operatic debut took place in 2014 conducting Massenet’s Don Quichotte with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife. Until 2020 he was the assistant conductor of all productions there, collaborating a.o. with Jader Bignamini, Evelino Pidò, Massimiliano Stefanelli…in a vast repertoire including Hänsel und Gretel, Don Pasquale, Madame Butterfly, Turandot, Traviata, Bohème, Lucia di Lammermoor, Francesca da Rimini.

Recent performances include his symphonic debut with the Symphony Orchestra of the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari ; a new production of Rigoletto with the Toscanini Orchestra for the Teatro Regio in Parma, Donizetti’s Requiem at the Auditorio de Tenerife, a new production of Mozart’s Zaide with Graham Vick at the Teatro Sociale in Como ; La Bohème at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples ; a very successful debut at Antwerpen Opera with Ernani, and Der Zwerg at Tenerife Opera.

Alessandro Palumbo graduated in piano and composition from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and the Hochschule für Musik in Rostock. In 2009 he won a scholarship to attend the Center de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, under the guidance of Maestro Alberto Zedda. He attended conductor masterclasses by Donato Renzetti, Colin Metters, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Ulrich Windfuhr and Sylvain Cambreling.
