Ervin Ahmeti

Young tenor Ervin Ahmeti was born in Shkoder, Albania, and began his first singing lessons at the age of 6. At 12, he won first prize at the Bilbilat e vegjel te Shkodres kendojn singing competition in Shkoder. He was first taught in bel canto in his home country for almost three years, and has been studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Leipzig with Prof. Berthold Schmid and KS Prof. Roland Schubert since 2019.

Ervin Ahmeti has appeared in various productions, including Die Zauberflöte by Mozart, Der Vetter aus Dingsda by Eduard Kunneke, Die Kluge by Carl Orff, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Benjamin Britten, Dornröschen by Engelbert Humperdinck, The Cunning Little Vixen by Leos Janacek at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre.

At the Leipzig Opera he sang in  Der Haushofmeister / Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier and Kutscher / Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk .

This season, at the Theater Altenburg Gera, he sings Der lyrische Tenor / Johnson’s Riemannoper, and at the Chemnitz Theater, where he is in residency from January 2025 to the end of June 2025, he sings  Un Bohémien /  Gustave Charpentier’s Louise, Stefan Koltay / Paul Abraham’s Victoria und ihr Husar, and Gastone / Verdi’s La Traviata.

From September 2025, he will join the Basel OperAvenir, where he  will sing Ramiro / Cenerentola and on the main stage of the Basel Theater,  Tamino / Zauberflöte, Malcolm / Macbeth, Jack / Mahagonny, Gastone / Traviata

Since September 2021, Ervin has been the recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship.
