Julija Vasiljeva

Julija Vasiljeva graduated from the Jāzeps Vītolas Latvian Academy of Music under the guidance of Anita Garanča and got her master degree under Lilija Greidāne.
She has participated in the JVLMA opera studio’s productions of Nozze di Figaro and followed the masterclasses of Edda Moser, Renato Bruson, Inga Kalna, Axel Everaert, Margarita Gruzdeva and Māris Skuja.
Jūlija has been a soloist of the Latvian National Opera since 2013 singing a.o. Violetta / La Traviata, Gilda / Rigoletto, Susanna / Nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna / Don Giovanni, Liù / Turandot, Marguerite / Gounod’s Faust, Norina / Don Pasquale…
Julija was nominated for the 2022 Great Music Award as “Vocal soloist of the year”. The same year, she sang the title role of Verdi’s Luisa Miller in a concert performance and in two new productions – Donna Anna / Don Giovanni and Hanna Glawari / The Merry Widow.
During season 2022/2023 Julija moved on to lirico spinto repertoire and scored two very successful debuts as Abigaille / Nabucco and Adriana Lecouvreur .
This season, she sings Elisabetta / Don Carlos and Adriana Lecouvreur in two new productions, and the revivals of Turandot, Nabucco and Jenufa at Latvian National Opera in Riga.
