Massimo Frigato
Born in Rovigo in 1995, Massimo Frigato is a tipical « tenore di grazia » with a soft, mellow and warm voice in the tradition of Tito Schipa and Ferruccio Tagliavini. He began studying the piano at the age of 5. At the age of 10, he was admitted to the bassoon class at the F. Venezze Conservatory. He started singing at the age of 22, first at the A. Buzzolla Conservatory where he graduated with top marks, and then continued the two-year course under the guidance of teacher Gloria Scalchi at the N. Paganini Conservatory in Genoa. He spent the last year of his academic career in Stuttgart at the HMDK opera school, studying with K.S. Diana Haller.
During his studies he took part in numerous master classes held by maestros such as A.Corbelli, B.Frittoli, V.Terranova, L.Magera, S.Mingardo, S.Frigato. In 2023 he attended the R.Celletti academy in Martina Franca. He won the Tullio Serafin competition in 2022 and was a Finalist at the Aslico competition in 2023.
Among the roles he has already sung on stage : Percy / Anna Bolena (Rijeka), Il Marchese / Gli Uccellatori and Eurillo / Gli equivoci nel sembiante (Martina Franca), Don Ottavio / Don Giovanni (in Lucca, Livorno, Vicenza) , Ferrando / Così fan tutte (in Campobasso and at the Varese festival), Ernesto / Don Pasquale (Gubbio), Il Podestà / La finta giardiniera (Adria), Agenore / Il Re pastore (Fabriano), Tamino / Die Zauberflöte (Modena), Chevalier De La Force / Dialogues des Carmélites (Stuttgart)…
Massimo joins the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin for the season 2024/2025, where he will be singing Gastone and cover Alfredo in Traviata by Verdi and 1er Brigand / Les Trois Brigands by Puntos.
