Nadja Stefanoff

Soprano Nadja Stefanoff has just made  her debut at Oper Frankfurt in the title role of a new production of Giordano’s Fedora, to rave reviews.

After studying at the University and Staatsoper in Dresden, she was a member of the ensembles of Theater Erfurt, Theater Bremen, the Staatstheater in Braunschweig and Staatstheater in Mainz, where she has been a member of the ensemble since 2014. 

She has also appeared at Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, the  Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Staatsoper in Stuttgart, Komische Oper Berlin, Staatsoperette in Dresden, Staatstheater in Kassel, Oper Bonn, the Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich and made recordings with the Orchester der Staatsoperette Dresden and the NDR Radio Philharmonic. 

Concert work has included appearances with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Tonhalle Zürich and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz. 

After enjoying success in leading trouser roles such as Idamante in Idomeneo and Octavian in Rosenkavalier and roles including Adalgisa in Norma, Bianca in A Florentine Tragedy and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni , Nadja Stefanoff moved to “jugendlich dramatischer” soprano roles in 2013 when she sang her first Tosca. Recent successes have included Manon Lescaut, Norma, Adriana Lecouvreur, Sieglinde / Walküre,  Countess  / Le nozze di Figaro, Katja Kabanowa, Elisabetta / Maria Stuarda, Agathe / Der Freischütz, Marietta / Die tote Stadt and Cherubini’s Medée, Marta / Weinberg’s Die Passagierin at Oper Graz (available on CD – Naxos) and at Landestheater in Innsbruck.
