Romanas Kudriašovas
Romanas Kudriašovas has been described by The Telegraph as having a “voice with shades of Alan Rickman in speech and John Shirley-Quirk in song — that certainly catches the ear”.
In 2024 he made his debut at Royal Opera House Covent Garden in Madama Butterfly, and subsequently sang Morales / Carmen.
This season he makes his role debut as Zurga / Les Pêcheurs de perles at Opéra du Grand Sud.
Recent appearances include Schreker’s Strahlbusch at Lyon Opera, Salome at Bergen Festival, Silvio / Pagliacci and Orso / La Vendetta by Hamerik at Danish National Opera (Den Jyske Opera), Schaunard / La Bohème at the Lithuanian National Opera, Frédéric / Lakmé in Valladolid, Prince Yeletski / The Queen of Spades at the Vilnius City Opera, Le Surintendant des plaisirs / Cendrillon at Glyndebourne, Polyphemus / Acis and Galatea at the Baroque Opera Theatre of Lithuania, Sagrestano / Tosca in Vilnius and in Amy Lane‘s production at the Abu Dhabi Festival alongside Kristine Opolais, Vittorio Grigolo and Sir Bryn Terfel.
Other recent performances include The Footman / Vanessa and the cover of Almaviva / Le Nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne Festival, Commissionario / La Traviata for Glyndebourne on Tour, Eolo in La fida Ninfa for the Lithuanian Baroque Opera Theater, Lockit / The Beggar’s Opera and Antenor / Dardanus with the European Opera Centre, Valens / Theodora with the Sacred Opera Berlin, Mr. X / Zirkusprinzessin with the State Music Theatre in Klaipėda, Bill / Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny with the Hamburger Symphoniker and Elviro / Serse for Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy.
Recently Romanas sung Bach’s Magnificat with the Hamburger Symphoniker conducted by Sir Roger Norrington.
Romanas Kudriašovas studied singing at the Music and Theatre Academy in Lithuania, Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, the Wales International Academy of Voice with Dennis O’Neill and Nuccia Focile and at the London National Opera Studio. Moreover he has trained at the Georg Solti Bel Canto Academy with Leo Nucci, Barbara Frittoli, and Richard Bonynge, as well as taking masterclasses with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. SIAA Foundation Liechtenstein generously supports Romanas towards the development of his career.
