French baritone Yoann Dubruque is among the most promising young baritones of his generation. He is unanimously praised for “his velvety and flexible voice, his ringing high notes and his physical acting, paired with winning looks”.
He made his singing debut in 2017 in the title role of Don Giovanni at the Mozart Midsummer Festival in Brussels.
His career has since developed fast and he has sung in Bern (Don Giovanni), Avignon (both title roles in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Le Nozze di Figaro), Brussels De Munt (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Aix-en-Provence Festival (world premiere of Orfeo & Majnun), Dijon (Rameau / Les Boréades with Emmanuelle Haïm), Lille (Campra / Idoménée), Bordeaux (Carmen) and at Paris Opéra Comique where he is currently a member of the new ensemble “Troupe Favart” (Thomas / Hamlet, Boieldieu / La Dame blanche, Gounod / Roméo et Juliette…).
Recent appearances include Bizet’s Pearls’ fishers at the Paris Philharmonie and in Montpellier; broadcast recitals from Paris Opéra Comique and Bordeaux Grand-Théâtre, Les Huguenots at Brussels De Munt, Idomenée at Berliner Staatsoper, Grétry’s Andromaque in Saint-Etienne, Jenufa in Rouen…
