Yulia Merkudinova

Born in Sinferopoli (Crimea), Yulia graduated from the National Music Academy of Kyiv. She now lives in Italy where she attended masterclasses by Renata Scotto, Leone Magiera, Edda Moser, Renato Bruson, Mariella Devia and Luciana Serra .

Yulia is the laureate of many voice competitions including Viñas in Barcelona (2nd Prize and Audience Prize in 2023), Giuditta Pasta (1st Prize in 2024), Iris Adami Corradetti (3rd Prize in 2024), Renata Tebaldi (Audience Prize and Best soprano Prize in 2022) , Bel Canto in Vendôme (1st Prize in 2021), Spoleto (Winner in 2019)…

Recently she made her Spanish debut to rave reviews as Juliette / Roméo et Juliette with Fundaciò Opera Catalunya,  then at the Teatro Real of Madrid for a gala concert. The press unanimously praised her beauty of tone, her ringing high notes and immaculate coloratura, her passionate singing and her moving acting. She also debuted at the  Kyiv Opera the title-role of Traviata in 2024 with great success.

Next season, she will sing Pamina / Die Zauberflöte in Ferrara, Gilda / Rigoletto in Albacete, Sao José del Reyes and Toledo.

Her repertoire includes Giulia / Scala di Seta (Teatro Comunale di Bologna), Gilda / Rigoletto (Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, Teatro Mario del Monaco di Treviso, Teatro Sperimentale di Spoleto …), Donna Anna / Don Giovanni (Daegu Opera, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara), Adalgisa / Norma (Teatro Comunale di Ferrara), Adina / Elisir d’Amore (Teatro Comunale di Ferrara), Mimì and Musetta / Bohème (Kiev Theatre, Roma) , Norina / Don Pasquale (Fano).

Her fist solo album with Leone Magiera will be released in 2025.
