Mareike JANKOWSKI

From 2015 to 2017, Mareike was a member of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala. At La Scala she sang the Dritte Dame in Mozart’s „Zauberflöte“ under Adam Fischer and Peter Stein, la Terza Dama in „Il flauto Magico per i bambini“ under Ulrich Peter and Min Chung and the witch in „Hänsel und Gretel“ under Marc Albrecht and Sven-Eric Bechtolf and small parts in Strauss’ „Der Rosenkavalier“, Wagner’s „Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ and in Weber’s „Freischütz“. Afterwards she was engaged at the Neue Oper Wien to sing the title role of Krenek’s „Pallas Athene weint“, at the Teatro Italia in Rom to sing „Carmen“ as a Prize winner of the competition Ottavio Ziino, at the Opéra de Toulon in France with the Dritte Dame in „Die Zauberflöte“ and at Savonlinna Festival in Finlandia to sing Suzuki in „Madama Butterfly“.

Since September 2018 Mareike is a member of the Opera Graz in Austria where she performed so far roles like Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Marcellina, Dorabella, Preziosilla, Varvara in Katja Kabanova, Prinz Orlofsky, the title role La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein of Offenbach, Suzuki and Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Besides she sang concerts at the Teatro alla Scala, Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Tonkünstler Orchester at the Musikverein in Vienna, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Azerbaijani State Symphonic Orchestra and the Alt solo in Mahler’s 3rd Symphony with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra amongst others. At the New Years Concert she will sing as a soloist Arias of Carmen and Dalila and French operatic Duets with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra on the 1st of January. 

Upcoming roles include Venus in Tannhäuser and Cassandre in Les Troyens 2024/25. 

Mareike graduated  from the University of Music and Dance in Cologne and continued her studies at the MDW University of Music in Vienna with Prof. Claudia Visca. Masterclasses with Christa Ludwig, Brigitte Fassbaender, Luciana D’Intino, Luciana Serra, Eva Mei, Renato Bruson, Horiana Branisteanu, Michael Hampe and Peter Stein completed her studies. 

Mareike was a finalist and price winner of the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin 2016, of the intern. competition Oktavio Ziino in Rom 2016 and of the intern. competition Angelo Lo Forese in Milan 2017.
