Daniel Montané

Daniel Montané, born in Barcelona, was the Principal Conductor at the Staatstheater Mainz  from  2020 to 2024 and he is a guest conductor for opera productions and concerts at renowned international venues: Dresden Semperoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real, Peralada Festival, La Coruña Festival, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Mannheim, Theater Lübeck, Bolschoi-Theater Minsk, Sochi Festival, Opéra de Toulon, Cape Town Opera, Thessaloniki’s Megaron or the Munich Gasteig… among many others.

His repertoire includes more than 50 operas and a wide symphonic repertoire. He has also conducted numerous concerts and galas with renowned singers such as Sonia Ganassi, Sondra Radvanovsky and Fiorenza Cedolins.

Between 2007 and 2012, Daniel Montané was Principal Conductor at the Theater Bremen and held the same position from 2013 to 2015 at the Ulm Opera. In 2021, he conducted La Traviata with Lisette Oropesa and Pretty Yende at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and was re-engaged for a gala concert in 2022.

Highlights in recent seasons are his debut with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Rigoletto at the Opéra de Toulon, Carmen at the Bolshoi Theater Minsk, Don Pasquale in Cape Town Opera or Simone Boccanegra, Manon Lescaut, Die Fledermaus, Adriana Lecouvreur, Nabucco and The Rake’s progress Le Villi / Pagliacci, Così Fan Tutte  at the State Theater in Mainz.

During the  season 2023/2024,  he conducted new productions of Der Rosenkavalier and Carmen in Mainz, as well as Manon Lescaut in Malaga.

In 2024-2025 he will conduct a.o. Der Rosenkavalier in Mainz, Turandot in Sevilla, the gala concert of the Vinas Competition in Madrid.
