Romanas Kudriasovas & Alexander Paley
« This cycle, like many of Brahms’s opuses, requires endurance, artistic maturity, technical mastery and knowledge of interpretive subtleties from the performers. All this was demonstrated on stage that day by baritone Romanas Kudriašovas and pianist Alexander Paley. »
« The intelligent, expressive baritone of Romanas Kudriašovas delighted us with an intellectual interpretation. The singer did not force his voice, he allowed the listeners to enjoy the words of German Lied, excellent pronunciation and correctly placed logical accents of the text. »

When Alexander heard in 2021 a broadcast of a recital of Romanas on the Lithuanian radio, he had the feeling to have finally found the singer he was looking for for many years. Their first performance took place in Vilnius (Organum Hall) in May 2022 with Brahms’ Die schöne Magelone, a program they repeated in Kaunas in June 2022, where Romanas both sang an narrated the poetic text. Their second program together consisted in arias by Rameau and Lully, as well as songs by Hahn (in August 2022 at Paliesius manor, Lithuania). Their third program included Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte in May 2023 in Klaipeda concert hall, Lithuania, which they repeated in Vilnius in October 2023 (swapping Beethoven songs for Schubert and Loewe songs). In late spring 2024 they performed a full program of Beethoven songs.
Lithuanian baritone Romanas Kudriašovas has been described by The Telegraph as having a “voice with shades of Alan Rickman in speech and John Shirley-Quirk in song — that certainly catches the ear”.
Recent appearances include Schreker’s Strahlbusch at Lyon Opera, Salome at Bergen Festival, Pagliacci at Danish National Opera, Vanessa, Cendrillon and Le Nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne Festival, Lakmé in Valladolid, The Queen of Spades in Vilnius. In 2024 he made his debut at Royal Opera House Covent Garden in Madama Butterfly.
